The Cobbers' game against Wis.-River Falls was a defensive battle for the full 60 minutes with goals being hard to come by and the first team to score won. The Cobbers conceded the only goal of the game midway through the third period and lost 1-0 to the Falcons.

The third period will now officially be known as Cobber Time. Concordia scored two unanswered goals in the final 12 minutes of its home opener against Wis.-Eau Claire and downed the Blugolds 3-1.

There would be no more third-period magic for Concordia in its series finale at Augsburg. The Cobbers claimed wins in their first three game of the year by scoring multiple goals in the final period but on Saturday they were held scoreless in third and lost 3-2 to the Auggies.
