There would be no comeback to force overtime in the Cobbers’ second game of their series at Bethel. Concordia conceded four goals in the second period on Saturday and lost 6-2 to the Royals.

-Isaac Henkemeyer’s 2-goal game helped Concordia rally from a 2-0 first-period deficit and come away with a 2-2 overtime tie in the series opener at Bethel. The Cobbers gain a single point in the conference standings after coming up short in the 3-shot shootout.

What A Difference A Month Makes

What a difference a month makes. Four weeks ago Concordia was near the bottom of the MIAC and had won only once in their past 10 games. Fast forward to Saturday when the Cobbers erased a 4-1 deficit, beat Hamline 6-4 and haven't lost in six games.

Breakaway Spree Gives Cobbers Series-Opening Win

Concordia scored three unanswered goals, all on breakaways, and rallied to beat Hamline 3-1 in the series opener. Ben Luedtke, Caden Triggs and Hunter Olson got the goals for CC and Dane Couture lowered his MIAC-leading goals against average.

Concordia exploded for three unanswered goals in the third period to break open a 2-2 tie with St. Olaf in the series finale and earn a 5-2 victory and three points in the MIAC standings.

Playoff-Style Series Opener Ends In Stalemate

It was a game befitting a playoff battle in March. Concordia’s series opener with St. Olaf had it all – early goals, lead changes, a late goal to send the game into overtime and then plenty of action in the extra session. The Cobbers and Oles fought through 65 minutes of play without deciding a winner as the teams skated to a 3-3 tie.

Sophomore goalie Dane Couture used the first MIAC shutout of his career to earn his second Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.

Sophomore goalie Dane Couture (Little Falls, Minn./Little Falls HS) used the first conference shutout of his career to earn his second MIAC Defensive Player of the Week honor this season. 

Tal Halliday scored the Cobbers' game-winning goal in overtime in a 3-2 win at St. Scholastica. It was his second game winner of the year.

Tal Halliday’s goal with 33 seconds left in overtime gave Concordia a 3-2 win over St. Scholastica and a sweep in the 2-game series.

A Second-Period Shindig

January 17, 2025

Concordia used a 4-goal second period to get back on the winning track in the MIAC. The Cobbers scored four times in a span of 14:36 in the middle frame and blanked St. Scholastica 4-0.

Cobbers Finish Off Non-Conference Schedule

Concordia finished off its non-conference schedule by dropping a 6-3 decision at Wis.-Stout in an offensive showcase on Saturday. The two teams combined for six goals in the first 18 minutes of play and had a total of 71 shots on goal in the game.

Cobbers Drop 2025 Road Opener

January 10, 2025

Concordia opened its 2025 road season by losing 7-1 at Wis.-Superior. The loss ends a 1-game win streak for the Cobbers and moves their season record to 5-8-1. The Yellowjackets won for the sixth straight game and are 11-3-1. 

Concordia honored its seniors before their 6-0 win over Marian. Eight of the Cobber seniors had at least one point in the game.
A Stylishly Successful Senior Celebration Day

Concordia celebrated its seniors and their parents before their series finale with Marian (Wis.) and then the team honored the group by going out and shutting out the Sabres 6-0. Eight of the nine Cobber seniors recorded a point in the lopsided win. CC also received five of its six goals from five different seniors.

Concordia opened the 2025 portion of its schedule by battling Marian (Wis.) in an overtime thriller which the Cobbers finally lost 4-3.
