Matt Nagel is in his first season as head coach of the Cobber wrestling program. It is his sixth overall campaign as part of the Concordia coaching staff. Matt's incredible experience and knowledge as a wrestler makes him one of the most decorated coaches on the staff.

Matt wrestled collegiately at the University of Minnesota where he earned All-American honors in 2005. In addition to the All-American award, he also qualified for four NCAA Championship Meets and won 100 career college matches.

Matt's wrestling resume goes deeper than his career with the Gophers. He was also a five-time Minnesota State High School Champion and went on to win three Junior Greco National Championships as well as a Fila Junior Greco Championship.

Matt's knowledge of the basics and his ability to teach high-level techniques make him an outstanding mentor for all weight classes. Under his brief tenure with the Cobbers, Concordia  has produced a pair of indiviual NCAA Champions as well as seven All-Americans and has been ranked in the top 25 of the nationa every single season.
