Scott Carter Named Interim Head Coach

MOORHEAD, Minn. (7/26/23)---Concordia Athletic Director Rachel Bergeson announced that Scott Carter has been named the softball interim head coach. Carter had been the team's top assistant coach since 2022.

"We are excited to welcome Scott in this new role," Bergeson said. "He will bring consistency because of his previous role with the team and he has a great pulse for Cobber Softball, and where we want the program to be."

Carter brings a long history of softball coaching experience to the program. Prior to coming to Concordia, Carter was the head coach for the Fargo North softball program for five seasons from 2015-19. During that time, he helped lead the Spartans to four consecutive North Dakota state tournament appearances, and helped turn the team into one of the premiere programs in the state. He was named the EDC Coach of the Year in 2017.

Carter is a native of Lisbon, N.D.
