Frolek Makes It 4 To Lead Concordia

LA CROSSE, Wis. (10/14/23)---Make it four different Cobbers to lead the team in the four different meets this year.

Junior Drew Frolek became the fourth different runner to lead Concordia at a meet this season as she posted a time of 24:40.4 and helped CC place 14th in the final team standings out of 20 teams and 139 different athletes at the Tori Neubauer Invite hosted by Wis.-La Crosse.

Frolek dropped a full minute off her previous season best time as she moved up 47 spots throughout the race and came home in 53rd place.

Frolek was 7-seconds ahead of first-year athlete Grace Ingebretsen, who has also led CC at a meet this year. Ingebretsen recorded a personal best time of 24:47.0 and finished in 57th place.

Senior Elsie Hatlevig was the team's No.3 finisher at the meet. Hatlevig is another member of the Cobber Quartet that has led CC at a meet this year. She crossed the line in a time of 25:01.1. Her finishing time is a personal record and a full minute faster than the time she posted on the same course at last year's meet.

Amelia Rowley, who led the Cobbers at the Wis.-Rau Claire Meet, was the team's No.4 finisher in la Crosse. She clocked a 25:19.7 and was in the Top 90 of scoring runners at the meet.

Junior Airial Johnson rounded out the Concordia scoring team at the meet. She recorded a season-best time of 26:16.2.

First-year runner Londyn Ames had the most significant breakout of any Cobber at the meet. She slashed 93 seconds off her previous personal record and ran a 26:25.9 to finish right behind Johnson.

UP NEXT: Will a fifth Cobber lead the team at the next meet, or will it be one of the quarter who has already been the No.1 runner? Concordia will discover the answer to that question when they race at the MIAC Championship Meet on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Carleton.
