Gruenberg & Cobbs Turn Back The Clock
ST. PAUL, Minn. (10/29/16)---It was turn back the clock day at the MIAC Championship Meet for sophomore Brianna Gruenberg and Concordia. For the second straight year Gruenberg earned MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention Honors and for the second straight year the Cobbers finished seventh at the conference meet.
Gruenberg raced over the 6K course at Como Park GC in a time of 24:00.3 and finished in 23rd place. Last year she crossed the line in 25th place.
Gruenberg was one of the Cobber Top 5 who all placed in the Top 65 at the meet which featured 213 runners.
Senior Kaya Baker was the team's No.2 runner at the meet. She crossed the line in 24:32.7 and placed 40th.
The Cobber No.3, No.4 and No.5 finishers at the meet all placed within seven spots of one another and all were within seven seconds of each other.
Freshman Kara Andersen ran a 24:52.6 in her very first conference meet and crossed the line in 58th place. Junior Sarah Curran and sophomore Maria West posted almost identical times and finished in 64th and 65th place. Curran clocked a 24:59.3 and West was right behind with a finishing time of 24:59.5.
WHAT'S NEXT: Concordia will head back into action at the Central Region Meet on Saturday, Nov. 12 at Carleton College.
