Sophomore Pack Pushes Cobbers At MIAC

ST. PAUL, Minn. (11/02/13)—Melissa Uhrich led a pack of four Cobber sophomores at the MIAC Meet. Uhrich was the team's No.1 runner while three other second-year runners were in the team's top 7 as Concordia placed 10th at the conference championship race.

Uhrich has steadily climbed into the role of the No.1 runner for the Cobbers throughout the season. She ran a 23:34.2 in her first MIAC Meet  and finished in 17th place. Uhrich's time was over 30 seconds faster than anyone else on CC.

Heather Olson, Callie Christianson and Susan Drache were also running in their first conference championship meet and all turned in top 7 times. Olson was Concordia's No.4 runner and clocked a 25:18.6. Christianson was 24.4 seconds behind Olson and finished with a mark of 25:43.0 while Drache came home in 26:30.9.

Seniors Hannah Knickerbocker and Morgan Christian and junior Kathryn Stalnaker rounded out the Cobber race team for the day. Knickerbocker was the only other CC athlete to finish in the top 50. She raced to a 36th-place finish in a time of 24:06.2. Christian paced herself to a 25:10.9 while Stalnaker completed the 6k course in a time of 26:02.3.

Concordia will now have a two-week break before returning to action at the NCAA Central Region Meet held at St. Olaf College on Saturday, Nov. 16.
