Cobbers Honor Brakke & Wiggs on Senior Celebration Day

MOORHEAD, Minn. (10/22/22)---Concordia wasn't able to carry over the momentum from Friday night's thriller with No.16-ranked Gustavus, and lost 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-18) to St. Olaf on the annual Senior Celebration Day.

The Cobbers hit .270 in the first set, but then didn't crack the .100 mark for the following two sets as they fell to 7-15 overall and 3-6 in the MIAC.

St. Olaf (13-11, 6-3 MIAC) turned up the heat at the start of the second set when they won seven of the first 10 points and 13 of the first 10. The Oles hit .343 in the second set and then .229 in the third.

Concordia had 28 kills and hit .143 on the day. St. Olaf came away with 43 kills and finished with a .254 attack percentage.

Brook Carney led the Cobbers with six kills. Concordia had four different players with five winners each. Anna Brakke, Maria Watt, Hannah Keil and Kendra Wiggs all had five kills. Brakke added six digs, while Watt hit a team-best .300 and Wiggs recorded a team-high four blocks.

Junior Kaia Lill recorded 23 assists, and Chloe Markovic had a team-high eight digs.

UP NEXT: Concordia will host Hamline on Friday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. to start the final weekend of the season. The Cobbers will then travel to St. Joseph to take on St. Ben's on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. in the season finale.
