MOORHEAD, Minn. (9/26/12)—Concordia went on a 9-1 run in the fifth, and deciding, set against St. Olaf and came away with a 3-2 (23-25, 25-18, 25-23, 23-25, 15-5) win over the Oles in a battle of teams that entered the match unbeaten in MIAC play.

The Cobbers and Oles battled through the first four sets, trading wins before CC turned a 3-3 nail biter into a 12-4 walk through the park. With the win, Concordia pushes their conference record to 4-0. They are now one of only two teams in the MIAC which have not lost a league match. The Cobbers have now won four straight – after dropping five consecutive - and are 6-6 in all matches.

A pair of newcomers led the way for Concordia. Freshman Olivia Wangensteen and junior Angie Waller had identical 18-kill, 20-dig matches. Wangensteen, this week's MIAC Hitter of the Week, was responsible for 22.5 of the team's 84.0 points. She had an attack percentage of .125 and also added two blocks. It was Wangensteen's third straight match with at least 15 kills and the fourth time in the last nine outings she has posted a double-double. Waller hit .298 for the match as she came away with season highs in kills and digs.

As a team Concordia hit .204 for the match and held a 68-50 edge in total kills.

Besides the outstanding hitting of Wangensteen and Waller, Kynndyl Ross had a match-high .394 hitting percentage and came away with a career-high 15 kills. Danelle Loomis also had a career-high in the match. She recorded 47 assists and also added six digs. Senior Rachel Wiinanen had a team-high 29 digs in the five sets and has had double-digit dig totals in all but two matches this season.

Concordia will stay at home for the weekend when they host St. Mary's on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 3 p.m.
