ROCHESTER, N.Y. (5/26/23)---Peyton Selle (Dickinson, N.D.) finished off her second consecutive appearance at the NCAA Division III National Meet in style. The junior came through with a career-best time in the 800 meters, which helped her post a career-best point total in the heptathlon.

Selle, the only multi-event athlete from the MIAC to qualify for the national meet, finished with a total of 4,565 points. That total is 127 points better than her previous score in the event and helped her place 14th in the national event. That is eight spots better than her seed coming into the meet and one spot ahead of last year's finish at the DIII Meet. In 2022, she ended the competition with 4,372 points

Selle's other 600-point-plus event came in the first event on Day 2. She earned 614 points with a distance of 17-00.75 in the long jump. It was only the second time in her career that she had recorded a mark over 17 feet.
