Selle Competes At NCAA National Indoor Meet

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (3/10/23)---Junior Peyton Selle finished the 2023 indoor season by placing 20th in the pentathlon at the Division III NCAA Indoor Championship Meet in Birmingham, Ala.

Selle finished the five events with a total of 3,044 points.

Selle's top event of the pentathlon came in the opener, when she ran a 9.46 in the 60-meter hurdles and scored 816 points. It was the only event where she scored more than 570 points.

Selle, who was in 15th place after the first event, had hard luck in the second event when she posted a height of 4-08.25 in the high jump and scored 544 points. That tied for her lowest height of the season in any meet.

Selle came back to record a distance of 32-02.75 in the shot put and score 518 points. She then moved on to the long jump where she came through with a mark of 16-05.25 which got her 562 points.

Selle finished off the national pentathlon by clocking a time of 2:37.35 in the 800 meters that earned her 604 points – her second event that eclipsed the 600-point mark.
