Roeske Named MIAC Outdoor Coach of the Year

MOORHEAD, Minn. (5/14/15)—Marv Roeske capped the team's outstanding outdoor conference season by being named the MIAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year.

Roeske helped guide the Cobbers to a second-place finish at the MIAC Outdoor Championship Meet.  It marked the third time in the last four years that Concordia posted a runner-up finish at the outdoor meet.

Concordia ended the 2015 MIAC Meet with 129.50 total team points which is the most posted by a CC team since the 2001 season.

Roeske also helped the Cobbers continue their impressive top 5 finish streak at the MIAC Outdoor Championship Meet. Concordia has now placed in the top 5 of the conference outdoor meet for 26 consecutive seasons.

It is the fourth time in his career that Roeske has earned coach of the year honors.  He was also named the MIAC Outdoor Coach of the Year in 2004 and the Women's Track and Field Coach of the Year in 1998 and 1999.

Roeske will now lead a select group of Cobber athletes as they try to improve on their NCAA Division III national qualifying marks when they compete at the Wis.-La Crosse Last Chance Meet on Friday, May 15. The Cobbers currently have four athletes in position to participate at the DIII National Outdoor Meet but are hoping to have two more qualify.
