Borchard Shines In Season Finale at St. Olaf

OWATONNA, Minn. (4/15/23)---The Cobbers closed out the 2023 by losing 7-2 to St. Olaf in a match played indoors at the West Hills Tennis and Fitness Center.

The Cobbers came through with a win in singles and doubles play against the Oles as they finish off their year with a 9-11 overall record and a 2-8 mark in MIAC play.

St. Olaf improves to 7-6 in all matches and 5-3 in conference action.

Sophomore Erin Borchard had a hand in both wins for the Cobbers on Saturday. She teamed with Mary Skorich to post an 8-4 win at No.2 doubles.

Borchard then claimed the Concordia season win crown by coming up with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No.6 singles. The win was Borchard's 12th singles win of the year which leads all CC players. Borchard finishes the year with a 12-7 record in all matches and a 6-4 mark in conference play.

Her 12 singles wins are the most by a Concordia player since 2012 when Andrea Rognlien went 14-2.

Lizzie Allan and Emily Savageau nearly came up with a win at No.3 doubles. They fell 8-5 in a back-and-forth match that was decided down the stretch.
