MIAC Postseason Award Newcomers

MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/12/15)—For the 13th consecutive season Concordia had at least two players earn MIAC  All-Conference honors and for the 13th straight year the Cobbers had three players receive conference postseason honors.

Senior defender Sadie Hayes and junior forward Emily Wendorff were placed on the MIAC All-Conference Team while junior Paige McCullough earned MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors. Senior Morgan Holm was the team's selection for the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team. 

The trio helped Concordia earn its 13th consecutive trip to the MIAC playoffs which is the longest streak of any team in the conference. The Cobbers went 12-8 overall and finished the league season at 6-5 which was good for sixth-place in the final MIAC standings.

All three of the Cobber award winners earn postseason honors for the first time in their careers.

Hayes was the leader of the Cobber defense. The team's starting central defender, she helped Concordia post a shutout and record a 1.63 goals against average in 2015. In addition to her defensive ability, Hayes posted career-high numbers on offense. She had three goals during the year after only recording a single score in her first three seasons in maroon and gold. Hayes scored in back-to-back-to-back games including goals against MIAC opponents St. Mary's and Carleton. He header tally against the Cardinals proved to be the game winner in the team's 3-1 win.

Wendorff was the team's leading point getter for the second straight season. She finished the year with 10 goals and five assists for 25 points in all competitions. She had five goals and three assists for 13 points in the team's 11 league games. Both her overall and conference statistical totals are career highs.

Wendorff led the MIAC in total shots and shots on goal in conference games. She was tied fourth in total points fourth in goals scored.

Like Hayes and Wendorff, McCullough recorded the highest season point total of her career. McCullough had breakout year on offense in 2015. After scoring only two goals and totaling eight points in her first two collegiate seasons, McCullough exploded for four goals and a team-high seven assists for 15 points in all games. She recorded two goals and five assists for nine points in MIAC games.

McCullough tied for the league lead in assists in conference games. She was also in the top 20 of the MIAC for overall points.
