Rounds Becomes Second Cobber All-American
MOORHEAD, Minn. (12/19/11)—Concordia junior
Sarah Rounds (Plymouth, Minn.) was named to the
National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA)
All-American Team. She becomes the second player in school history
to earn All-American honors.
Rounds, who was placed on the All-American Second Team, finished
her season by leading the Cobbers in goals scored and points. She
finished the year with 15 goals and four assists for 34 points. The
award caps a year where she also earned All-Region honors for the
second straight season and was named to the MIAC All-Conference
Team for the third straight year.
Rounds had at least one point in 15 of the team's 23 games this
season. She scored at least one goal in 13 games and tallied a pair
of goals in the Cobbers' three NCAA Tournament games and scored in
five of the last seven games of the year. The Cobbers were 11-2-0
when Rounds scored in a game. Rounds led the MIAC in shots, shots
per game and goals and was tied for the lead in points in all
games.
Rounds has 37 goals and 24 assists for 98 points in her first
three seasons at CC. She needs two more points to become the sixth
player in program history to reach the 100-point barrier. She is
currently ranked fifth on the school's all-time goals-scoring
list.
