Another Uphill Climb In River Falls

RIVER FALLS, Minn. (01/06/24)---It was another uphill battle for Concordia in the series finale against No.1-ranked Wis.-River Falls. The Cobbers gave up multiple goals in all three periods and lost 7-0 to the unbeaten Falcons.

The Cobbers gave up three goals in the first period and two in each of the second and third frames in falling to River Falls.

The loss drops Concordia's record to 4-8-1 on the year. The Falcons up their mark to 14-0-0.

The Cobbers didn't allow a power-play goal in the series finale. All seven strikes were of the even-strength variety. The CC penalty kill group held River Falls scoreless in their one chance of the afternoon.

Sophomore Hailee Bailey had another busy game in goal. She played the entire game on Saturday and turned aside 30 shots.

Concordia finished with 12 shots on goal. First-year forward Taylyn Cope led CC in shots for the second straight game. She posted three shots and finished with a team-high seven in the series.

McKenzie Oelkers, Paige Hanson, Morgan Sauvageau and Taylor Severson all had two shots on target for the game.

UP NEXT: Concordia will return to MIAC action next weekend when they play at St. Scholastica on Feb. 11-12.
