Season Team Lows Highlight St. Kate's Invite

STILLWATER, Minn. (9/24/23)---A week after having four players record single-round, season-best best scores, the Cobbers posted their two best team scores of the year at the St. Kate's Invite.

Concordia opened the tournament with a 356 and then bettered that by a single shot on Day 2 with a 355 to finish the 2-day meet at 711.

Senior Lillie Kirchner continued to lead the Cobbers. She fired an 80 on Saturday and then came home with an 84 on Sunday to finish with a total of 164, which was good for a tie for 31st place. The opening-round 80 is the lowest score by a Cobber this season. It is also the second-lowest single-round total for Kirchner in her college career. She carded a 79 last year at the DIII Classic. Her total of 164 is the lowest 2-round score of her career.

Kirchner has posted scores in the 80s in five of her eight rounds this season. She leads the team in scoring with an 87.6 average.

Junior Joss Leach was the team's No.2 finisher at the St. Kate's Invite. She went 91-89 for a 2-day total of 180, which is her lowest score this season. The two scores helped Leach improve on her season average. She came into the weekend having posted only two other scores under 92 on the year and is now averaging 94.6 on her two rounds.

Freshman Addicyn Zimmerman and junior Lauren Lamp were the team's No.3 and No.4 finishers for the weekend. Zimmerman was one shot behind Leach with a total of 181. She posted a 91 on Day and then recorded a 90 on Sunday. Zimmerman is second on the team in scoring this year with an 88.6 average.

Lamp shot below her season average in both rounds and came away with a total of 186. She opened with a 94 and closed with a 92. Lamp dropped her season average to 94.6 for the season.
