Season Lows Are The Rule At DIII Midwest Classic

HASTINGS, Minn. (9/17/23)---Concordia had four players post season-best, single-round scores at the DIII Midwest Classic at Emerald Greens GC.

Senior Lillie Kirchner led the Cobbers with a 2-round total of 177 (87-90), which helped the Cobbers finish 15th in the final team standings.

Kirchner's 87 on Saturday was tied for the low round by a Cobber at the tournament. The 87 also ties her low score for the season. Kirchner lowered her season average and is second on the team with an 89.7 average over six rounds.

Lauren Lamp had her best tournament of the season. She finished four shots behind Kirchner with a total of 181. Lamp opened with her best round of the year when she carded an 87. Lamp posted a 94 on Sunday.

Freshman Addicyn Zimmerman was the team's No.3 finisher over the weekend. For the second straight tournament, she opened with a score in the 90s but then rallied to go low in round No.2. Zimmerman carded a 92 on Saturday and then came home in 89. She continues to lead CC this year with an 88.0 average.

Joss Leach had the biggest improvement between the two rounds for Concordia. She opened with a 94 and then went five shots lower with an 89 on Sunday. The 89 in the second round is Leach's lowest of the season.                  

Abbey Hardwick finished off the scoring team for the Cobbers. She also recorded her lowest score in a single round for the season. Her 94 on Saturday marked the first time she has been below 100 for the year.

UP NEXT: Concordia will head back to the Twin Cities when they compete in the St. Catherine Fall Invite on Sept. 23-24 at Eagle Valley GC.
