Cobbers Show Improvement At Season-Opening Invite

SARTELL, Minn. (9/04/22)—Concordia opened its 2022 season by finishing 12th at the CSB Invite at Blackberry Ridge GC in Sartell. The Cobbers started the weekend with a team total of 364 on Saturday, fired a 375 on Sunday and finished at 739.

The Cobbers' 2-day team total is five shots better than last year at the same tournament on the same course.

Senior Abbey Frauenholtz led Concordia for the second straight year as she posted a pair of scores in the 80s and finished with a total of 174 (85-89). Her total score is eight strokes better than her 2021 mark.

Frauenholtz led the team in birdies over the weekend. She birdies the par 4 sixth hole on Saturday and then made a 3 on the Par 4 second hole on Day 2.

Sophomore Joss Leach was the No.2 golfer for CC over the two days. She started with a 95 and then posted a score of 90 on Sunday. Here total of 185 is six shots better than last season.    

Junior Lillie Kirchner was the only other member of the Cobbers to break the 200 mark for the weekend. She opened with a 91 and then fell to a 97 on Sunday to finish at 188.

UP NEXT: Concordia will head north to Bemidji to play in the Bemidji State Invite on Sept. 12-13.
