Outscored Down The Stretch

ST. PAUL, MInn. (2/11/12)-- Concordia took a 39-35 lead over league-leading St. Thomas with 6:50 to play but couldn't make it hold up and lost 53-44 in St. Paul on Saturday. The Cobbers were outscored 18-5 down the stretch and lost for the first time in five games.

Cobber sophomore center Alex Lippert led CC with 11 points, four rebounds and two blocks. She was the only Concordia player in double figures in scoring. Erika Jossart was 2-for-3 from the floor and 3-for-5 from the free throw line and added nine points. 

Concordia shot 39.5% from the floor and 20.0% from 3-point range. The Tommies connected on 32.1% of their shots from the field and 33.3% of their attempts from outside the arc. 

The big statistical advantage came on the glass where Concordia was outrebounded 43-23. The Tommies also had 18 offensive rebounds as opposed to only one for the Cobbers. UST used that advantage to gain a 14-0 edge in second chance points.
