College Bookends Pace Cobbers At Blugold Invitational

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (9/29/23)---The college bookend duo of senior Tanner Olson and freshman Tyler Goss continue to lead the Cobbers during the 2023 season. The tandem was the team's No.1 and No.2 finishers for the third straight meet as they paced Concordia to a 23rd-place finish at the Wis.-Eau Claire Blugold Invite held at the Whitetail GC, which will also host the NCAA Regional Meet later in the fall.

Olson and Goss were the only two Cobber runners to finish in the Top 100 of the race, featuring  30 teams and 257 competitors.

Olson crossed the line in the 87th scoring spot with a time of 26:56.40. That mark is a season-best time. It is the first time he has broken the 27-minute mark in 2023. His previous low time was 27:07.0, which was posted on Sept. 16 at Carleton.

Like Olson, Goss also went under 27 minutes for the first time this year. He clocked a 14-second season-best time of 26:57.00 and was the No.89 scoring runner in the race.

Sophomore Carter Ferber stepped into the No.3 spot on the team in Wisconsin. He broke the 30-minute  mark with a time of 29:24.40.

First-year athlete Brady Andrews was right behind Ferber at 29:20.30. That mark shaves a full 26 seconds off of his personal best time. It is also the first time that Andrews has been in the Top 5 finishers for CC this season.

Like Andrews, senior Solomon Johnson stepped into the team's scoring squad for the first time in 2023. He was the No.5 finisher for the Cobbers with a mark of 31:01.30. That time is a drop of more than a minute from his previous season best.
