Season-Best Times Abound At Jimmie Invitational

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (10/07/22)---Leo Smith made it a perfect 4-for-4 as he led Concordia for the fourth straight meet, and helped the Cobbers finish fifth as a team at the Jimmie Invitational held at the Parkhurst Cross Country Course.

Smith was the top finisher for a Concordia team that had all seven individuals post season-best times on an 8K course. Smith clocked a 26:18.8 and came through in 12th place. That time is over 1-minute faster than his time at the Roy Griak Invite which was held two weeks ago.

Freshman Jonathan Krueger continues to find success in his first year of collegiate cross country. He was the team's No.2 finisher with a time of 27:15.1. That is a season-best time and earned him a spot in the Top 25.

Tanner Olson missed a Top 30 finish by 2.8 seconds. He ran a season-best time of 27:43 and placed 31st in the meet of 90 competitors.

The Cobbers had a second first-year runner slide into the Top 5 finishers for the team. Mustafe Abdi, who continues to drop time in each meet, crossed the line in 28:00 and was the No. 37 finisher. Abdi's time represents a 1:38 drop from his mark at the Griak.

Senior Solomon Johnson was the final member of the Cobber scoring squad. He was just behind Abdi with a time of 28:06 which is also a season best.
