Sederquist Posts Career-Best NCAA Regional Time

PELLA, Iowa (11/15/14)—Concordia finished off the season by competing in the NCAA Central Region Meet held at Central College in Pella, Iowa. Ryan Sederquist led the Cobbers to a 22nd-place team finish as he was the only CC runner to finish in the top 100.

Sederquist has stepped into the team's No.1 runner role in the two championship meets of the season. He led Concordia at the MIAC Meet two weeks ago and was the top Cobber finisher at regionals. Sederquist ran a 26:30.01 on the 8k regional course. That finishing time is his career best at an NCAA Regional Meet and the second fastest over an 8k course this season. It is also six seconds faster than his time last year when he placed 55th at the regional meet. Sederquist's time was also 38-seconds faster than any other CC runner at the meet.

Carl Wahlin was the team's No.2 runner for the second straight meet after spending the entire regular season as the top harrier for the squad. Wahlin raced to a 101st place finish with a time of 27:08.9. That time is more than a minute faster than his regional time last season as a freshman.

The next three Cobber runners who all were a part of the scoring team for Concordia at the meet all finished within 45-seconds of one another. Senior Aaron Larkin was the team's No.3 runner competing in his first regional meet. Larkin ran a 28:56.02 and finished in 153rd place.

Peter Simon was 26-seconds behind Larkin and came home in 161st place with a time of 29:22.06. Simon, who was the team's No.5 runner at the MIAC Meet, was also competing in his first regional meet.

Henry Dobbs pushed into the top 5 of the team for the second time this season. Battling through an arm injury throughout the year, he crossed the finish line in a time of 29:41.09 which was his second fastest time over an 8k course this season.
