Sederquist Leads Cobber At MIAC Meet

ST. PAUL, Minn. (11/01/14)—Ryan Sederquist and Carl Wahlin dueled all the way to the finish line to give the Cobbers a pair of top 50 finishers at the MIAC Championship Meet. Sederquist edged Wahlin at the tape in a time of 26:59.9 to post the top time for the Cobbers at the conference meet for the second straight year.

Concordia finished in 11th place as a team with a final score of 292. They were 12 points behind Bethel who finished in 10th place.  

Sederquist's finishing time was good for 44th place at this year's MIAC Meet. He crossed the line just 3-seconds in front of teammate Wahlin. Wahlin came home in 27:02.9 and was in the No.45 spot. Wahlin's time is 47 seconds faster than last year. He also improved his finishing position by six spots.

The top two Cobbers were the lone top 50 finishers for CC. A pair of Concordia runners making their conference meet debuts were the team's No.3 and 4 finishers. Freshman Brendan Johnson was the No.3 runner for Concordia. He finished in a time of 28:14.4 and placed 63rd. Johnson's time was 48.3 seconds faster than senior Aaron Larkin who ran a 29:02.7 finished in 63rd place.

Peter Simon was the final scoring runner for the Cobbers. Simon raced to a 29:46.6 and recorded a 72nd-place finish. His time was a season best over an 8k course.

Henry Dobbs and Tim Peterson were the final two competitors at the meet for Concordia. Dobbs clocked a 30:04.7 while Peterson covered the course in 30:42.9.

Concordia will be looking to improve their times at the NCAA Central Region Meet which will take place on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 11 a.m. at central College in Iowa.
