Cobbers Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Status

MOORHEAD, Minn. (2/14/14)—Concordia earned U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic status.

For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have compiled a cumulative GPA or 3.10 or greater and competed in at least five different meets with at least five runners representing their school at each.

The Cobbers compiled a team grade point average of 3.40. Concordia was one of 10 MIAC men's teams earning All-Academic honors. The MIAC had the most teams win the award of any conference in the nation.

National champion St. Olaf (men) was named the USTFCCCA Division III Scholar Team of the Year for the 2013 cross country season among 146 men's programs that earned All-Academic Team honors. St. Olaf earned the honor as the highest-finishing team at NCAAs to have earned All-Academic Team honors by compiling a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.1.

In total 220 unique programs were recognized, including 141 programs that had both their women's and men's teams earn the honor. The Whitworth women reported the highest team GPA at 3.84, while the Amherst and Ithaca men were tied atop their gender at 3.66.
