Rhonemus Finishes Day 1 At NCAA Indoor Meet

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (3/08/24)---Concordia senior Wade Rhonemus finished Day 1 of the heptathlon at the NCAA National Indoor Meet with 2,559 points.

That total puts him in 19th place in the national meet heptathlon standings. It is only 77 points behind his MIAC total from Day 1 when he went on to win the heptathlon and break the school record.

Rhonemus opened his third straight national meet multi-event competition by posting a time of 7.40 in the 60-meter dash which earned him 745 points – his top-scoring event for Friday.  

Rhonemus also recorded 645 points in the long jump with a distance of 20-08, 535 points in the shot put at 35-06 and 627 points in the high jump with a height of 5-10.75.

His marks in the 60-meter dash, long jump and shot put were just under his totals in the MIAC meet, while his height of 5-10.75 in the high jump bettered his mark of 5-10.00 in the conference heptathlon.

Rhonemus will finish off the NCAA heptathlon when he competes in the 60-meter hurdles, pole vault and 1000 meters on Saturday. Mar. 9 beginning at 9 a.m.
