Wegleitner, Thornbrugh & Glogoza Earn MIAC Honors

MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/14/13)—Seniors Brett Wegleitner and Matt Glogoza and freshman Sage Thornbrugh all earned MIAC postseason honors as part of the conference's year-end selection process.

Wegleitner was Concordia's lone representative on the MIAC All-Conference Team while Thornbrugh earned MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors and Glogoza was the team's selection to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team. It is the first postseason awards for both Wegleitner and Thornbrugh. It marks the second straight season that Glogoza has been honored with the Spoertsmanship Team selection.

Wegleitner started the season as a central defender but then moved to the front line five games into the schedule. He proceeded to excel at the new position and finished the year by leading the team in scoring. Wegleitner had 11 goals and one assist for 23 points in all games and ended the conference campaign with six goals for 12 points. His overall point total is the most in a single season since the 2010 season.

Wegleitner was tied for second place in the MIAC in goals in overall games while he was fourth in goals scored in league games. Wegleitner's goal total in all games was 57.9% of the team's total scoring output for the season. He had a stretch in the middle of the season where he scored at least one goal in eight of 10 games.

Thornbrugh was the team's creative central midfielder. His ability to gain control of the ball in the middle of the field and relieve pressure helped start the Cobber offense throughout the entire season. He finished the season with two goals and two goals and seven assists for 11 points. He was second on the team in scoring in overall games. His seven assists were the third highest total in the MIAC and are the most by a CC player since the 2010 season. Thornbrugh's total was only four behind the school record for most assists in a season by a first-year player.

Thornbrugh had five assists against conference opponents which placed him fourth in the league in that statistical category. His highest point total in a single game in 2013 came against non-conference foe Presentation when he scored a pair of goals.
