MIAC Makes Bolger Twice As Nice

MOORHEAD, Minn. (2/01/16)—For the second time in the past three weeks Concordia senior Jordan Bolger has been named the MIAC Player of the Week. Bolger averaged 21.3 points and 11.0 rebounds in the Cobbers' three games last week.

Bolger's three-game performance helped Concordia go 2-1 on the week and jump up the conference standings. The Cobbers are now in a three-way tie for second place in the league standings.

Bolger began the week with a 17-point, seven-rebound performance last Monday in a tough 79-70 loss to No. 6-ranked St. Thomas. That game was just a warm-up session for the rest of the week. Bolger had his biggest point contribution of the week against fellow second-place squad St. Olaf. He put up a career-high 26 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the win over the Oles. Bolger then capped his week by stuffing the stat sheet against Augsburg. He came away with 21 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists and three steals to help Concordia better the Auggies in Minneapolis.

Bolger's huge week has bumped his season averages in all stat categories. He continues to lead the MIAC in scoring with a robust 19.1 points per game average. He is second in the league in rebounds in league games with an 8.9 rebounds per game average. Bolger is also ranked in the top 5 of the MIAC in nine different statistical categories.

Bolger will be looking to continue his MVP-type season when he leads the Cobbers in a game at Carleton on Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 5:45 p.m. Concordia will then finish off the week by hosting Gustavus on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 1 p.m.
