McKenzie and Molina Earn MIAC Honors
MOORHEAD, Minn. (2/29/12)—A pair of
Concordia guards earned MIAC postseason honors it was announced on
Wednesday by the league office. Junior Dewon
McKenzie (Minneapolis, Minn./Cooper HS) was named to the
All-Conference Honorable Mention Team and senior Johnathon Molina
(Dilworth, Minn./D-G-F HS) was the team's representative on the
All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.
McKenzie averaged 11.6 points, 2.2 assists and 2.2 rebounds in the
team's 20 league games. He also led the team in steals in
conference play. McKenzie was in the top 15 in the league in
assists, steals and 3-point field goals made and was in the top 25
in points per game.
McKenzie, playing in his first season at Concordia, had a
season-high 22 points against Augsburg on Dec. 3 and posted at
least 10 points in 11 conference games. He also had at least one
steal in eight of the final 10 games of the season.
McKenzie averaged 11.1 points in all games. He also had a 2.5
rebounds and 2.3 assists per game average in the team's 25 overall
games.
