Senior Salute - Will Berning

The Cobber "Senior Salute" series is a way to honor all the Concordia spring sports athletes who had their senior season come to an abrupt halt. We want to highlight one senior each day to thank them for all their hard work, dedication and Cobber spirit they have show over their careers in maroon and gold.

Cobber Senior Salute - Will Berning - Track and Field

What was one of the things you were looking forward to most in the upcoming season?
I was most excited to get out and compete again and try and improve my personal best.

What is one of the top things you will miss about being a Cobber athlete?
I am going to miss all the practices and competitions the most. Getting to come to practice was one of my favorite times of the day. I got to forget about school for a couple of hours and just go out and have fun. Also, I am going to miss competing in the MIAC. It’s a competitive conference with lots of good athletes, which makes for lots of good competition.

What is something you are going to miss about Concordia College – away from athletics?
One thing I am going to miss about being in college is just being with my teammates every day. We spend so much time together, it is going to be hard not seeing them every day. I will also miss my classmates and professors who have helped me so much here at Concordia.

What is one of your favorite highlights/memories from your time playing athletics/being with your team?
My favorite track memory was at conference last year when I got a new PR.

What is one of your favorite memories from Concordia away from athletics?
Getting together with friends and hanging out.

What are your post-graduation plans?
I plan on taking a gap year before I apply for PA school.
