Fleisch Leads Group Of Seven Cobber Postseason Award Winners

MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/23/21)---Senior center Collin Fleisch led a group of seven Concordia players who were all named to MIAC postseason teams. Fleisch was the lone Cobber to earned All-Conference First Team honors.

Peyton Mortenson, Chase Dockter and Damien Silus were all placed on the MIAC All-Conference Second Team, while Abel Perry, Noah Jenson and Ty Moser received All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.

Fleisch was also selected by Concordia as the team's representative on the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

The septet all received All-Conference honors for the first time in their careers.

The seven players helped Concordia finish in second place in the newly formed Skyline Division in the MIAC standings. The Cobbers went 3-1 in division play. CC was 4-6 in all games and 3-5 against all conference competition.   

Fleisch was the anchor of the Cobber offensive line from his position at center. He was one of the team's four captains for the season. Fleisch helped Concordia finish fourth in the MIAC in rushing yards in league games. The Cobbers rushed for 1,115 yards in their eight conference games. CC was also fifth in total offensive yards as they averaged 371.1 yards per game.

Mortenson had a breakout season in his senior year. He rushed for 554 yards in the eight league games and had five rushing TDs. He was fifth in the MIAC in rushing yardage and had a pair of 100-yard rushing games. His top game came against Macalester when he rushed for 172 yards on 26 carries.

Dockter had 26.0 tackles in the team's conference games. The team's nose tackle, had 12 solo tackles and 14 assisted tackles. He also posted 2.0 sacks. Dockter's top league game came in the Championship Week game against Gustavus when he came through with 7.0 tackles and 0.5 tackles for a loss.  

Silus made the biggest splash of any Cobber newcomer. He earned All-Conference Second Team honors as both the kicker and punter. Silus led the MIAC in extra point conversion rate. He was a perfect 22-for-22 in PATs. Silus also connected on the longest field in league play of any kicker. He knocked home a 42-yard field goal against Bethel on Oct. 16.  Silus was third in the MIAC in punting. He averaged 38.0 yards per punt for his 38 punts in conference play.

Perry was an imposing force as the team's right guard. He started all 10 games in 2021 for the Cobbers and helped CC average 23.8 points in the eight MIAC games. Perry was also a part of an offensive line that allowed only nine sacks in conference play.

Jenson and Moser were the defensive leaders from their spots at the middle linebacking position. The two lead the team in tackles and helped the Cobbers finish third in the league in rushing yards per game (99.0 ypg). CC was also fifth in points allowed per game (28.5 ppg).

Jenson was the team leader in tackles. He finished with 41 solo and 23 assisted tackles for a total of 64 tackles. He also had 3.5 tackles for a loss and 2.0 sacks. Jenson was fifth in the MIAC in tackles in 2021. Jenson's top stat game came in the season finale when he had 16.0 tackles against Gustavus.

Moser was second in total tackles for the Cobbers. He had 47 total tackles which consisted of 30 solo tackles and 17 assisted takedowns. Moser had a career-high 15 tackles against division champion Bethel and had his first interception in the team's 41-7 win at Hamline.
