A Beautiful Cobber Football Golf Outing

MOORHEAD, Minn. (8/05/16)—It was a picture perfect day for the 14th annual Concordia football golf outing. Over 130 past Cobbers players, friends and family turned out to the Moorhead Country Club to show their support for the program.

"The turnout was incredible," commented head coach Terry Horan. To see this many golfers enjoying the day and helping out the program really shows the support we have for this team."

The number of golfers and total sponsorship dollars raised were up from 2015. Each golfer received a Cobber football pullover as well as a prize bag. There were also food and beverage tents set up throughout the course which were provided by sponsors of the program.

All the money raised by the golf outing goes into the Concordia football budget to help pay for travel, etc.

"I can't thank the staff at the Moorhead Country Club enough," said Horan. "Pro Larry Murphy has the course in beautiful condition and makes the day very special with the caliber of golf course he sets up. His staff handled all the details of the event flawlessly."

The golf outing is also the unofficial start of the new season. The 2016 Cobber team will report to preseason camp on Saturday, Aug. 13. Concordia will travel to Jamestown for the season opener. The Cobbers and Jimmies will square off on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 1 p.m. Concordia is coming off a 7-3 season and their fourth straight Top 3 finish in MIAC play.
