Terry Horan Announces 2013 Recruiting Class
MOORHEAD, Minn. (5/6/13)—Concordia head coach Terry Horan is pleased to announce the majority of the 2013 recruiting class. The Cobber football program is excited to welcome over 50 new faces to the team starting in the fall.
"We are all excited to welcome our 2013 recruiting class to the Cobber Football Family," replied Horan. "Our entire staff feels that this recruiting class has the makings to be a pretty special group. Our ultimate goal when we recruit is to find as many solid student/athletes as we can – our entire staff feels very confident that this incoming class will continue to carry the torch of our proud football tradition."
Concordia is coming off one of the best seasons in recent history. The Cobbers went 8-2 overall and tied for second place in the league standings with a 6-2 record. Both win totals were the most since the 2005 season.
The biggest numbers for the incoming Cobber class falls in the interior line where 12 offensive linemen and six defensive linemen have committed to Concordia.
The breakdown of the 50 future Cobbers include four defensive backs, six defensive linemen, five inside linebackers, and five outside linebackers. On the offensive side of the ball Horan will welcome 12 offensive linemen, six quarterbacks, six running backs and five receivers. There is also one kicker committed to play for CC in the fall.
Of the 50 incoming freshmen, 37 are from Minnesota, nine hail from North Dakota and one each from South Dakota, California, Washington and Japan.
