Folkestad & Rhonemus Headed To South Carolina

Cobber seniors Cooper Folkestad and Wade Rhonemus are officially headed to South Carolina to compete in the NCAA Outdoor Championship Meet. The pair of Concordia athletes will compete at the national meet on May 23-26 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.      

First-year distance runner Brady Goss finished third in the 3000-meter steeplechase after posting the third-fastest time in Cobber history.

Day 2 wasn’t as dramatic for the Cobbers as the opener at the MIAC Outdoor Championship Meet but it still had plenty of eye-opening performances. Junior Anthony Marsh and first-year distance runner Brady Goss led Concordia on Saturday as CC finished sixth in the final team standings.

Senior Wade Rhonemus led a trio of Cobbers at one of the most hotly contested, highest-scoring MIAC decathlons in recent history.

Cole Nowacki was one of several Cobbers who competed at the Simpson Open and Drake Relays. He posted a career-best time in the 3K steeplechase.
Cobbers Compete At Simpson And Drake Relays

Concordia competed in a pair of meets in Iowa. The Cobbers had a group of athletes at the Simpson Open and had several at the Drake Relays on Friday and Saturday.

Gavin Groshelle was one of three Cobber steeplechase runners who gave CC a 4-5-6 finish in the event at the Hamline Invite.
A Splash & Throw Day At Season-Opening Hamline Invite

The steeplechase and shot put crews led Concordia at the Hamline Invitational. The Cobbers had three athletes in each event post a Top 10 finish at the first full outdoor meet of the year. The two events were responsible for six of Concordia’s 16 Top 10 finishes at the meet.

Concordia seniors Cooper Folkestad and Wade Rhonemus capped off their indoor meet careers by earning NCAA Second Team All-American honors at the Division III National Indoor Meet.

Concordia senior Wade Rhonemus finished Day 1 of the heptathlon at the NCAA National Indoor Meet with 2,559 points.

Folkestad & Rhonemus Headed To NCAA Indoor Meet

Concordia seniors Cooper Folkestad (Wadena, Minn./Wadena Deer Creek HS) and Wade Rhonemus (Foley, Minn.) have been officially entered into the NCAA National Track and Field Indoor Championship Meet which will be held on Mar. 8-9 in Virginia Beach, Va.

Rhonemus Leaps Into MIAC Postseason Record Book

t was only fitting on Leap Year Day that Cobber senior Wade Rhonemus lept into the conference record books by being named the MIAC Indoor Field Athlete of the Year.

MIAC Champion & School Record For Rhonemus

Wade Rhonemus posted an indoor PR mark in all three events on Friday and came away with an MIAC championship and a new school record in the heptathlon.

Junior Trevor Tiongson was one of six track athletes who posted Top 8 finishes on Day 1 of the MIAC Meet. He finished fifth in the 400M.
Track Athletes Lead Cobbers On Day 1 At MIAC Meet

Concordia had six track athletes post podium finishes to lead the Cobbers on Day 1 at the MIAC Indoor Championship Meet. Led by MIAC heptathlon champion Wade Rhonemus, Concordia finished Friday with 26 team points. That total was good for sixth in the team standings.  

Senior Dawson Schaffer ran the third fastest time in school history in the 60-meter dash at the UND Tune-Up Meet.
Experience Is Served At Tune-Up Before MIAC Meet

Experience was served in the final competition before the MIAC Championship Meet. Concordia had a host of seniors and juniors put up marks on the school’s all-time list as the Cobbers finished in third place in the final team standings at the UND Tune-Up.

Senior Cooper Folkestad led the Cobbers at the SJU Invite by getting past his PR in the shot put and putting his name in the Top 12 of Division III.

Senior Wade Rhonemus started the final multi-event campaign of his college career by nearly posting a PR in the heptathlon.
Bookends Lead MIAC Marksmen At Bison Open

It was another week of excellence for Cobber bookends Cooper Folkestad, Wade Rhonemus and Brady Goss. Seniors Folkestad and Rhonemus and freshman Goss all posted MIAC Top 3 marks and led Concordia at the NDSU Bison Open.

First-year runner Brady Goss was the lone event winner for the Cobbers at the UND Open. It was his second straight week with a distance-race win.
Goss Goes Back-To-Back In First Season Road Trip

Concordia embarked on its first road trip of the season on Saturday and had a first-year runner post his second straight event win of the year.

Concordia opened its 2024 season by hosting the 83rd annual Cobber Open. Concordia had four student-athletes post individual event wins at the meet that featured competitors from NCAA Division I, II and NAIA schools.
