A Quintet of MIAC Postseason Award Winners

MOORHEAD, Minn. (03/08/22)---Concordia finished their MIAC season by having five players earn conference postseason awards as selected by the league coaches.

Tyler Bossert (Sr., Fargo, N.D./Fargo Shanley HS), Cole O'Connell (So., Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) and Alex Stoley (Sr., Manteca, Calif./Sierra HS) were all named to the MIAC All-Conference Team. Jaret Lalli (Sr., Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji HS) received All-Conference Honorable Mention honors, and Isaac Henkemeyer-Howe (Fr., Moorhead, Minn./Moorhead HS) was placed on the MIAC All-Rookie Team.

Senior defenseman Shane Bernhardson (Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) was chosen by the Concordia coaching staff as the team's representative on the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

Bossert becomes one of the few players in Cobber history to earn three MIAC All-Conference awards. Stoley receives his first MIAC All-Conference honor after being named to the All-MIAC Honorable Mention Team in both 2019 and 2020. O'Connell, Lalli and Henkemeyer-Howe are all first-time conference postseason award winners.

Bossert finished tied for second in the MIAC in total points and assists. He played in all 16 league games for the Cobbers and came away with six goals and 12 assists for a total of 18 points. Bossert had two game-winning goals against MIAC opponents and was tied for fourth in the league in power play goals.

Bossert finished his Concordia career with 100 points. He became the first Cobber player to reach that milestone since Greg Salvevold in 1998.

O'Connell finished the conference season in the Top 15 in the league in both points and assists. He had four goals and nine assists for 13 points in 16 MIAC games. O'Connell had six multiple-point games during league play. He had two points in all six of those games. O'Connell's top scoring contest came in the team's non-conference win over Hamline when he had four goals and an assist.

Stoley was the team's top defenseman and was second in the MIAC in scoring by a blue line player. Stoley's outstanding 2-way play made him a threat on the offensive end as well as a stellar defensive player. He played in all 16 league games and finished with two goals and 10 assists. Overall, he had the best offensive output of his career. He finished with a career-high three goals and 13 assists for 16 points.    

Lalli, who paired with Stoley as the team's No.1 defensive duo, was among the Top 15 in points and assists for defensemen in 2022. He finished with two goals and four assists for six points. Lalli's only multiple-point game of the conference season came against St. Scholastica when he got two assists to help CC to a 4-1 in the series opener.

Henkemeyer-Howe had an outstanding freshman season. He was second on the team in scoring in league games and finished ninth in the conference in total points. Henkemeyer-Howe had eight goals and six assists for 14 points in 16 league games. His eight goals were fourth most in the MIAC. Henkemeyer-Howe's top game came against Bethel in the final regular-season home game of the year when he had two goals and two assists.
