Mid-Set Point Streaks Earn Third Straight

WIN STREAK: Concordia has now won three straight matches but more importantly three consecutive conference matches. The Cobbers were 1-2 in the MIAC after a loss at Augsburg on Sept. 22 and 12 days later they are 4-2 in league play and tied for fourth place in the MIAC standings. The four conference wins also matches the team's total from all of last season.

EIGHT IS NOT ENOUGH: In addition to upping their conference victory total, the Cobbers also improved their overall mark to 8-11. They have won four of their last five matches and their eight wins is one more than their total in 2017.

For Gronner and Christensen their 10 kills were a season high. Gronner had three matches with eight winners as her previous season best and Christensen upped her previous season best by three. She only had nine kills in her previous six matches played.

KILL STUFF PART 2: Concordia had 55 kills in the match against the Pipers which is a season high and the third time this year they have reached the 50-kill plateau.

COSTEING TO A CAREER HIGH: Sophomore defensive specialist Casey Coste recorded a career-high dig total. She came away with 28 digs in the match which beats her previous best of 22 which she had on Sept. 17 at Mayville State. Coste now has a team-high 236 digs on the year and 389 for her career.

DIG THAT: Casey Coste's career dig match helped Concordia post a season-high 95 digs. Their previous best was 85 against Simpson on Sept. 7. In addition to 28 digs from Coste, four other players had double-digit dig totals.

UP NEXT: Concordia will have the weekend off and then start a three-match home stand. The Cobbers will host Mayville State on Monday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. CC was swept by Mayville earlier in the season.
