All Square In Eau Claire

STORY LINE: Concordia went 1-1 on each day of the Wis.-Eau Claire and finished with a 2-2 record for the 2-day tourney. The Cobbers beat Edgewood 3-1 on Friday and North Central (Ill.) 3-0 on Saturday but were swept by Lakeland on Day 1 and host Eau Claire in the tourney finale.
  
RECORDS: Concordia doubles their win total for the year. CC was 2-7 coming into the weekend and finished 4-9 overall.
 
TOURNAMENT EVEN-STEVEN: The Cobbers have now played in a pair of tournaments south of St. Cloud this year and are 4-4 in those contests. Concordia split their first four games of the year at the Northwestern Invite in St. Paul. CC played in St. Joseph at the St. Ben's tourney and went 0-3 (north of St. Cloud).

KILLER CUPPETT: Senior Haley Cuppett led Concordia in kills and total attacks for the four matches. Cuppett came away with 31 winners for the weekend in 103 total chances.

JUMPING JILL: Sophomore setter Jill Klaphake led the Cobber offense with a team-high 74 assists. She also had 19 digs. Lexi Turn added 40 helpers for the four matches.

PAIGE TURNER: Freshman Paige Fabre had a team-high 33 digs in the tournament. She was one of of four CC players with at least 20 digs for the weekend. Anna Brakke came away with 28 digs while Casey Coste added 27 and Kortney Carney added 21.

BLOCK SISTERS: Brianna Carney and Kendra Wiggs both finished the tournament with nine blocks to lead the Cobber defense.        
  
UP NEXT: Concordia will play their penultimate non-conference match when they travel to Mayville, N.D. to take on Mayville State on Monday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. CC will then get back to conference play when they host Macalester on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. The Scots are 7-7 this year.
