CC Earns USTFCCCA Academic Honors

MOORHEAD, Minn. (7/22/21)----The Concordia women's track and field team was honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their work in the classroom. The Cobbers were placed on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team list.

In order to be honored as an USTFCCCA All-Academic Team a program must have a combined team grade point average (GPA) of 3.10 on a 4.00 scale.

The Cobber women attained a 3.69 GPA over the course of 2020-21 which was an improvement from last year.

The award for the women's team extends the program's streak of consecutive years earning the honor. Concordia has now been honored for 26 straight years – a streak that began when head coach Marv Roeske started at Concordia.

The highest cumulative GPA of any women's program belonged to Pomona-Pitzer who finished with a 3.829 GPA.

Concordia also had four individual student-athletes earn the individual All-Academic award. Josie Herrmann and Cayle Hovland claimed All-Academic honors for the second consecutive year on the women's side while senior Meritt Miller and freshman Peyton Selle also received the USTFCCCA national academic award.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and must have finished the season ranked among the Top 50 individuals in an event or have been a part of a relay team that was ranked in the Top 35.
