Jensen And Klemetson Compete At NCAA Meet

GRINNELL, Iowa (3/09/12)— Kaari Jensen and Chelsea Klemetson participated in their first-ever NCAA National Indoor Track and Field Meet at Grinnell College and both came away with valuable national meet experience.

Jensen competed in the pentathlon on Friday and finished in 11th place with a total of 3,223 points. That score was 91 points fewer than her national-qualifying score at the MIAC conference meet. Jensen's biggest single event score at the NCAA Meet came in the 60-meter hurdles where she scored 818 points. That time was the sixth fastest of the 11 participants in the pentathlon and tied her time at the MIAC Meet. That time is the third fastest in school history.

Jensen recorded over 650 points in two other events. She had 678 points in the 800 meter run and then 666 points in the high jump. She had a time of 2:31.22 in the 800 meters and a height of 5-00.50 in the high jump.

A week after breaking the 31-year-old school record in the high jump at the MIAC Meet, Klemetson failed to clear a height at her very first NCAA Meet.
