Next Stop MIAC Indoor Meet
NORTHFIELD, Minn. (1/25/12)—Concordia finished off the regular season portion of their indoor schedule by participating in the St. Olaf Indoor Qualifier on Saturday. The Cobber 4x400-meter relay team came away with the only event win at the meet.
Even though they didn't win an individual event, the Cobbers had plenty of solid performances. Junior Kaari Jensen and sophomore Rachel Tisdale made the biggest impacts on the individual side. Both athletes recorded marks that placed them in the school's all-time top 10 list. Jensen ran a 9.58 in the 60-meter hurdles and placed sixth in the event. Her finals time is the fifth fastest in program history. Tisdale came away with a 10th place finish in the 60-meter dash. Her time of 8.36 ties for the seventh fastest in school history.
Jensen also finished third in the high jump and was one of five Cobbers to post top 3 finishes on the day. Callie Christianson, Liz Hanson, Tessa Comstock and Hilary Thompson all finished in the top 3 in their events. Christianson ran a 2:22.31 in the 800 meters and finished third. Her time is the 11th fastest in the MIAC this season. Hanson busted out a 10:55.91 in the 3000 meters and was second. Comstock was second in the pole vault and Thompson had top 3 finishes in the long jump and triple jump.
The Concordia 4x40-meter relay team sprinted to a 4:07.61 to win the event by almost a full two seconds. That time is the sixth best in the conference this season.
Concordia will now compete at the MIAC Championship Meet on Mar. 2-3 at Macalester College in St. Paul.
