Head Coach Quincy Osborn Announces 2022-23 Recruiting Class
MOORHEAD, Minn. (6/21/22)---Concordia head coach Quincy Osborn announced his incoming class for the 2022-23 season.
The class features four individual state champions, six individual state place winners and the 12 new Concordia student-athletes had a cumulative grade point average of over 3.50.
"This is the type of class that can help us get over the top and sustain our academic and athletic success," Osborn said. "They really fit with our culture and I can't wait to get them on campus in the fall."
In addition to the multiple state champions and state place winners, the incoming class features wrestlers from five different states and eight different potential college weight classes.
Below is the complete list of the Concordia wrestling 2022-23 recruiting class:
Kie Anderson
Hometown/High School: Jackson County, Minn./Jackson County Central HS
Potential College Weight Class: 125
High School Honors: 2022 Minnesota Class A State Champion at 125, 2021 Minnesota Class A State 3rd Place at 113, 2-time Academic All-State First Team and AAA Award winner.
Personal Plans to major in Biology

Austin Defoe
Hometown/High School: Ashland, Wis./Ashland HS
Potential College Weight Class: 133
High School Honors: 2-time state qualifier where he finished third and fifth, 3-time regional champ, 4-time sectional qualifier, sectional champ, 4-time All-Conference with a 124-21 career record.
Personal Plans to major in Psychology

Mekhi Dennis
Hometown/High School: West Fargo, N.D./West Fargo Sheyenne HS
Potential College Weight Class: 149
High School Honors: 3-time North Dakota state qualifier at 138(2x) and 152, ranked fourth in the EDC in 2022 at 152, 2-time team captain and Ace Scholarship recipient for both North and South Dakota.
Personal Plans to major in Pre-Medicine

Demetry Hoseth

High School Honors: 2-time Alaska State AA Champion at 135, Alaska State AA 3rd place at 126, 2-time Alaska/USAW State Champion at 145 and Dillingham HS Student of the Year.

Rhett Hudoba

I knew a lot of the guys on the team already, including an old teammate, Thief River Falls has had a great tradition going to Concordia, and one of my assistant coaches who has really meant a lot to me is a Cobber alum. With all of that, it made it a really easy choice to want to be a Cobber!"
