Four Cobbers Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

MOORHEAD, Minn. (6/30/24)---Concordia had four players named to the Academic All-District Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA), in the men's/women's at-large category.

Seniors Ellie Brewer (Nederland, Colo.) and Jerica Friese (Argusville, N.D./Fargo Shanley HS) earn the honor for the second straight season, while Paige Hanson (Sr., Fargo, N.D./Fargo Davies HS) and Livia Hoff (So., Silver Bay, Minn./William Kelley HS) collect the award for the first time in their careers.   

To be eligible for Academic All-District recognition, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and have played in at least 50 percent of the team's competition throughout the season.

The at-large category consists of student-athletes who participated in men's and women's golf, men's and women's hockey, men's and women's gymnastics, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's skiing and wrestling.   

Brewer played in all 25 games for the Cobbers in 2023-24. She had a pair of goals and posted 11 shots on goal from her position on the blue line. She majored in Exercise Science major with a minor in Nutrition and Dietetics and had a 4.00 grade point average.

Friese had a 3.85 GPA while majoring in Elementary Education and minoring in coaching. She played in all 25 games and was tied for the team lead in goals scored with seven.

Hanson recorded the second-highest assist total for the year. She had seven assists and came away with 62 assists. Hanson had a 3.77 GPA with a major in Elementary Education.

Hoff played in the most games of her career during her sophomore season. She also posted career-high totals in assists and shots. Hoff is a Healthcare Administration major with a minor in Coaching. She carries a 3.94 GPA.               

The Division III Academic All-America program is financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure, to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the Division III Academic All-America team's program.
