Kohel Resigns; Hedin Named Interim Head Coach

MOORHEAD, Minn. (7/05/22)---Concordia Athletic Director Rachel Bergeson announced that men's soccer head coach Andy Kohel has resigned, and assistant coach Jon Hedin will be promoted to interim head coach.

Kohel, who coached the Cobbers for one season and had a 6-11 record, resigned to take a position in the field of media.

"I am sad to see Andy go, but will cheer him on in his next adventure," Bergeson said.

Hedin has been an assistant coach with the program for the past six of the past eight seasons. He has also been a prominent figure in the Fargo-Moorhead club soccer scene where he has been a head coach for the Tri-City organization since his college playing days.

"Jon's background with the program is a huge asset," Bergeson said. His enthusiasm, knowledge and ability will help move the program forward."

Hedin, originally from Andover, Minn., played for Concordia from 2007-2010. He graduated from Concordia in 2011 while majoring in biology.
