A Second MIAC Weekly Award For Couture

MOORHEAD, Minn. (1/20/25)---Sophomore goalie Dane Couture (Little Falls, Minn./Little Falls HS) used the first conference shutout of his career to earn his second MIAC Defensive Player of the Week honor this season.

Couture helped Concordia post a key league sweep at St. Scholastica over the weekend and was named the MIAC Player of the Week. He also received the conference weekly award on Nov. 4 for helping the Cobbers sweep Concordia (Wis.)

Couture came up large in the series opener on Friday. He stopped all 29 shots he faced against the Saints to record the first MIAC shutout of his career and the second overall blanking of the season. His play between the pipes helped CC post a 4-0 win.

On Saturday, he stopped 15 shots to propel Concordia to a 3-2 win in overtime.

Couture stopped 44 of the 46 shots he face in the series to help CC jump into seventh place in the league standings – only one point away from the final playoff spot.
