Kernel Pops In At No.2 On Cheetos Top 25 Ranking
Concordia mascot Kernel popped up in the No.2 spot on the inaugural Top 25 list of Cheetos Cheesiest Mascots in all of college.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (8/21/12)-- Concordia's mascot
"Kernel" popped in at the No.2 spot on the Cheetoh's inaugural
ranking of the top 25 "Cheesiest" mascots in all of college.
The preseason ranking by the Frito-Lay company adds to the long
list of awards for the Cobber mascot. Kernel has also been ranked
second on the list by ESPN for most creative, inventive or quirky
college team nicknames. The Cobber icon has also appeared in
countless lists on other minor websites and blogs.
The Cheesiest Top 25 mascot poll was put together by Chester
Cheetah, the iconic spokescat for the most playful snack in the
world and a leading brand from PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay
division.
The poll set out to give college sports fans and mascot
enthusiasts nationwide a cheesier set of rankings to follow, the
mischievous Cheetos spokescat assembled the exclusive ranking to
celebrate his quirky counterparts at universities and colleges
around the country.
Drawing from an admittedly unscientific analysis of college
mascots nationwide, rankings are based on “cheese
factor” and all-around silliness.
