Bio
On August 8th, 2023 Pollock was named Offensive Coordinator of Concordia College – Moorhead. He will also coach the quarterbacks amongst his equipment manager duties.
During Pollock’s second season at the helm, the Cobber Offense saw a plethora of records broken. On top of a 7-3 finish, 2024 witnessed Quarterback Cooper Mattern break numerous individual career records, and tie his own individual season record set the year before. Overall, Mattern finished his career with six individual season records and eight individual career records under Pollock. The 7-3 record was Concordia’s best since the 2017 season. On top of the three First Team All-MIAC nods and two All-MIAC Honorable Mention winners, the Cobber Offensive had its second consecutive MIAC Rookie of the Year (Jake Long).
The 2023 season was a solid foundation to build upon in Pollock’s first year at the helm. The Cobber Offense saw Quarterback Cooper Mattern break six individual school records, and the offense as a whole break three team school records. The offense was highlighted by two first team All-MIAC selections, two All-MIAC Honorable Mentions, and the MIAC Rookie of the Year (Angel Reyes).
Jake Pollock joined the Cobbers in the summer of 2021 to coach the Cobber Offensive Line. He was promoted to Special Teams Coordinator in the spring of 2022. Pollock came from to Moorhead from the United States Military Academy – West Point where he was the Defensive Recruiting Coordinator and Director of Recruiting Operations.
While working with the Offensive Line, Pollock mentored 2-time First Team All-MIAC selection Collin Fleisch, who also was named 2nd Team All-Region in 2022, as well as 2-time All-MIAC Honorable Mention Abel Perry.
During his time at Army, Pollock assisted in every aspect of offseason recruiting for the Black Knights. He helped with the acquisition of all the necessary information and documents required to attend a service academy. He also oversaw the flow of Army’s recruiting on a national level, and the on-campus visits of prospective cadets throughout the spring and summer months.
Prior to West Point, he was the Defensive Quality Control at Utah State University, where he was responsible for day-to-day operations amongst the defensive staff. During his time with the Aggies, Pollock helped the team navigate the 2020 COVID season which saw 4 members of the defense named All-MWC Honorable Mention. He handled all administrative duties for the defensive side of the ball, as well as assist with the Aggie Inside Linebackers.
Pollock also spent two seasons (2018-19) at the University of Sioux Falls.
The 2019 season featured a NCAA playoff berth for the Cougars. Pollock mentored the Tight Ends/Fullbacks which saw Kyle Barnetche named All-NSIC. The Coo finished second in rushing and points per game while accumulating an 8-4 record.
During the 2018 season, Pollock mentored the Running Backs for the Cougars. The Cougars led the NSIC with 274.2 rush yards per game.
Pollock coached NSIC and Region 4 Player of the Year Gabe Watson. Watson led the country in 5 different rushing categories (Rushing Yards – 1,957; Rushing Yards per Game – 177.8; Rushing TD’s – 26; Total Points – 156; Total Touchdowns – 26) and finished second nationally in scoring (14.2 points per game). Watson finished 2018 a unanimous All-American, 5th in the DII National Player of the Year voting, as well as breaking 5 different school records.
Paired with Watson in 2018 was 2nd Team All-NSIC Running Back Colton Myles. Myles finished the season 6th in the NSIC in total rushing, averaging a league third best 6.2 yards per carry with 5 rushing touchdowns. Both Watson and Myles were named NSIC Academic Team of Excellence (GPA of 3.6 or better) with Watson also being a semifinalist for the National Football Foundation’s Campbell Award.
Pollock spent the 2015-2017 seasons working with the Wide Receivers at the University of Wisconsin – Stout. There he coached a pair of All-WIAC 2nd Team selections in Brian Alvarez (2015) and Kevion McDonald (2017).
Pollock began his college career at the University of Wisconsin – Stout as a Wide Receiver in 2012. He graduated in 2016 with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Coaching. Prior to the Blue Devils, Pollock graduated from Litchfield Senior High School in Litchfield, Minnesota where he played football and baseball for the Dragons.
Pollock resides in West Fargo, North Dakota.
