Horan To Be Inducted Into MFCA Hall Of Fame

MOORHEAD, Minn. (7/26/21)---Concordia head coach Terry Horan will be inducted into the Minnesota Football Coaches Association (MFCA) Hall of Fame on Friday, August 13.

Horan will join former Cobber head coaches Jake Christiansen and Jim Christopherson in the MFCA Hall of Fame. Christiansen was inducted in 1970 and Christopherson received the award in 1996.

The MFCA Hall of Fame Banquet will be held at the Doubletreee Hotel in Minneapolis, Minn. on Aug. 13. Tickets for the ceremony are $50 and can be purchased at the MFCA website at: www.mnfootballcoaches.com.

Horan is entering his 21st season as head coach of the Cobbers. During that time, he has accumulated a 129-65 overall record and an impressive 100-53 mark again MIAC teams. Horan is only the third coach in Concordia football history to win over 100 career games and 100 conference contests. Horan needs only 14 more victories to surpass the legendary Jake Christiansen for second place on the program's all-time win list.

During his 20-year tenure Horan has posted a very consistent 66.4% winning percentage. He has guided Concordia to 15 top 4 finishes in the MIAC in the past 16 seasons. Horan shows no signs of resting on his early success as he has helped the Cobbers record 7-win seasons in six of the past eight years. Concordia has recorded 40 wins in the past six years, which is the second highest total of any school in the MIAC. The Cobbers have finished in the Top 3 of the MIAC in six of the past eight seasons and have won five conference games in seven years during that span.

The MFCA Hall of Fame banquet takes place on Friday, Aug. 13 and starts at 5 p.m. There will be a dinner at 6 p.m. and the induction ceremony will follow.
