Young & Old Pace CC At Region Meet

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (11/12/16)--- Sophomore Brianna Gruenberg continued her team-leading ways at the NCAA Central Region Meet as she placed in the Top 50 and helped the Cobbers to a 18th-place finish.

Gruenberg, who has been the team's No.1 runner for the majority of the season, ran a 23:28.0 and crossed the line in 42nd place. Gruenberg improved on both her time and place from last year's meet. She was 48th in a time 23:50 at last year's region race.

Concordia had an average time of 24:25 and had a spread of 1:42.1 between their runners.

Senior Kaya Baker was the only other Cobber to finish in the Top 75, and finish under the team's average time, at the meet. Baker came home in a time of 23:52.5 and placed 66th.

Concordia had their No.3, No.4 and No.5 runners finish within 28-seconds of one another. Freshman Kara Andersen placed in the Top 3 of the team for the first time all year after running a 24:42.0 and finishing in 114th place.

Maria West and Sara Whiteman rounded out the Cobber Top 5 scorers. West recorded a mark of 24:51.0 and was 9-seconds behind Andersen. Whiteman came home in 25:10 and was in the Top 135 of the meet that featured 218 runners. It was the first region meet for Whiteman while West improved by 19-seconds from her time at last year's meet.
