Fast Break Flurry Fells Cobbers

MOORHEAD, Minn. (10/09/22)---The Cobbers conceded three "fast break" goals in a 7-minute span midway through the first half, could never recover and lost 5-0 to Viterbo in the final non-conference game of the season.

The Cobbers finish their 2022 non-conference slate with a 3-3 record.  

The offensive statistics for the game were almost identical, but the V-Hawks were able to create chances off the break and came away with the win.   

Both teams had 15 total shots in the game and each team had six saves for the contest. Viterbo had a slim 3-2 edge in corner kicks and both teams were whistled for 11 fouls.

Concordia (3-8-1) had several chances from dead ball opportunities throughout the game but their shots sailed just wide of the target.

Senior midfielder Sophia Robinson had a team-high five total shots and put two on frame. Megan Barnick came up with three total shot and one on goal.

Cobber goalie Bre Nelson made six saves in the 90 minutes of play.  

UP NEXT: Concordia will host a pair of conference games next week. CC will face St. Catherine on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 4 p.m., and then square off against Augsburg on Saturday, Oct. 15 a 1 p.m.
