CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (1/10/25)---Senior Ty Bisek stamped his mark in Cobber wrestling history as he recorded his 100th career win at the prestigious NWCA National Duals Meet.

Unfortunately, Bisek's individual milestone wasn't enough for Concordia as they dropped a pair of close matches on Day 1 in Cedar Falls.

The Cobbers had their comeback fall just short against No.12-ranked Coe (Iowa) and lost 29-22 in the opener and then led for all but two matches in their second dual against the University of Dubuque and fell 24-22.

Bisek entered the Cobber record books in his bout against Coe. He dominated his match at 141 and recorded an 18-3 tech fall to post his 100th career win in maroon and gold. He became only the 11th athlete in program history to reach the 100-win plateau and joins last year's NCAA DIII runner-up Gabe Zierden in the small crew of successful Concordia wrestlers.

#12 Coe (Iowa) 29, Concordia 22
Bisek's win at 141 cut the Kohawks lead to 6-5 after two matches in the first bout of the day. Coe came back to claim wins in the next two matches before senior Elijah Hunt cut the lead to 17-10 with a 16-1 technical fall at 165.

Coe then rattled off another 2-win streak before the Cobbers finished off the match with pins at 197 and 285. Will Freking continues his recent hot streak by getting a pin at the 4:59 mark. The win was Freking's eighth of the year and all eight have come by pin.

Sophomore Sam Dioszeghy closed out the match with the Kohawks by getting his third pin of the season. He was aggressive from the first second, went on the offensive and got the pin with 11 seconds left in the first period.

Univ. of Dubuque 24, Concordia 22
Concordia and Dubuque both won five individual matches in the second event of the day but it was a late technical fall by the Spartans that proved to be the difference in the 2-point final score.

Junior Kie Anderson was the wrestler that got the Cobber win train going against Dubuque. After falling behind 6-0, Anderson came through with a pin at 1:40 in his match at 133.

Bisek followed with his fifth pin of the season to give Concordia a 12-6 lead. The win was Bisek's team-leading 14th win of the year. He is now 14-1.

Concordia came up with its second back-to-back win streak when Alex McPhee recorded a 9-8 decision at 157 and Hunt followed with his second victory – a 6-2 decision at 165.

McPhee is now 9-7 for the season while Hunt moves to 11-4. He has won five straight matches and six of his past seven.

Dubuque was able to grab wins in the next two matches to tie the overall team bout at 18-18. Freking retook the lead for CC when he earned a 12-3 major decision at 197.

Freking's win gave the Cobbers a 22-18 lead but Dubuque was able to post a pin in the final match to record the 24-22 team win.

Concordia will open Day 2 in Iowa by facing Centenary of New Jersey at 9 a.m.
