Cobbers Close Out MIAC Championship Meet
LAKE ELMO, Minn. (10/9/23)---Concordia finished the MIAC Championship Meet by shooting a team score of 376 on Monday and placed 10th in the final team standings.
The Cobbers posted a total of 1,115 over the three days at the Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo. Concordia's best team total came on Day 2, when they recorded a score of 367. They opened the meet by shooting a 372 on Saturday.
Senior Lillie Kirchner led Concordia at the conference meet. She finished with a total of 271 and tied for 35th place. Kirchner's best round of the tournament came on Saturday when she carded an 86. She followed that with a 91 on Sunday and closed the meet with a 94.
Kirchner led the team in scoring on the Par 3s for the meet. She also recorded one of the team's four birdies over the three days. Kirchner ends the fall portion of the schedule with a team-best scoring average of 88.5.
First-year golfer Addicyn Zimmerman was the team's No.2 finisher. She opened with a 96, then bettered that by six shots with a 90 on Day 2 and finished with a 91. Here total of 277 was good for 40th place. Zimmerman led CC with two birdies at the MIAC Meet. She ended her first collegiate fall season with an average of 89.6 – second best on the team.
Joss Leach, Lauren Lamp and Ellie Johnson were the other three golfers at the meet for the Cobbers. Leach's best round came on Sunday when she posted a 90. That tied for the second-lowest single-round score by a CC player over the three days. She bookended that 90 with a 96 on Saturday and another 96 on Monday.
Lamp fired a 94 on Day 1, which proved to be her low score of the weekend. She shot a 100 on Day 2 and came home with a 95 on Monday.
Johnson's best round was on Sunday when she carded a 96. She also had scores of 110 and 105.
